Love Our Lurkers Day

Yup, I'm still around, and somewhat surprisingly, I still have lurkers, or at least those that are just discovering my blog.

"What?!" you might be saying, "you haven't really posted anything new since July?!"

And you'd be right...

But as anyone that's read my blog for a long time knows, I really like my hamburger spanking analogy, and have used it so much that I adopted the hamburger as my avatar on here. Well, the picture below was sent to me by someone new to my blog, since my last post a few months ago.

Isn't it cute?  The bruise is from her recent spanking, obviously. (Sadly, not by my hand.)

I'll try to post more, but no promises. I'm happy though that my content remains and new folks continue to discover it.

Yes, I'm still here, and will be participating. Thanks to Hermione for organizing. Not sure which logo to use though.
and no, I'm not going on a political rant, instead will just sigh pray for my country. We'll survive.  I'll leave y'all with a few Trump/Hillary spanking pics:

Mushbutt- a re-examination

A few months ago my dear friend Erica republished her thoughts on photos showing "mush-butt" - the capture (at high speed) of the impact of a spanking on a bottom.  Her post was originally made back in 2010 on myspace. Since then we have had the invention of smartphones, with cameras embedded in the phones which are more powerful than the high end digital cameras back in 2010.  In fact, my new iphone even has the ability to film in HD in slow motion. So far, I've only tried that capability out with my kids doing the funny fart noise with their lips (which I highly recommend if you haven't tried it!).

But a quick google search led to plenty of impact shots of spanking, and I predict there will be plenty more. Firmhand was notorious back in the day for showing a three minute video, half of which was the same strokes of the paddle or cane in super slow-mo. While those shots are cool, I don't find them particularly arousing. (And let's be honest- that's why I want to watch spanking videos.) Still, it's nice to see the impact, and I can appreciate pics like these.

okay so not a spanking, but still cool

Painal - it's a thing; and Kobe Bryant

Apologies and fair warnings in advance- this may be a bit more sexually graphic than most of my posts here...

I recently talked with a fellow spanko about her recent playdate. She didn't give me a total play-by-play but described what happened: she was well spanked, they played with ginger, and then it ended with a "punishment anal."  Record scratch... wait, what? Yes, I've read about painful anal sex in several spanking romances. It's almost sort of a trope of the genre. My friend Natasha Knight includes some especially naughty anal scenes, and my friend Morganna Williams posted something fairly recently that's another good example of the phenomenon.  But I figured those were just over-the-top made-up stories for the benefit of horny spanking romance readers... I guess I was wrong. I've heard of "thank-you BJ's" after a spanking but this was the first instance of a "punishment anal" I've heard someone tell me about.

My immediate reaction was practical- I hope he wore a condom, cause what if he just pulled the ginger root out, stuck his dick in, and the remaining ginger oil burned his penis?? (I'm reminded of the one time I played with a violet wand and was worried the spark would catch a fart on fire!)

Frankly, I have relatively limited experience with anal sex, though I recognize many (most?) spankos are into it.  From my limited experience I prefer good ole-fashioned traditional sex to butt sex.   Yes, the sphincter is tight, but once you're fully in, the fun tight sphincter is around the base of the shaft, while the more sensitive rest of the penis is encountering who knows what that's not that tight- vs. a "traditional" female sex organ that's tighter the further in you go. Does that make sense?

is not as much fun as

But the internet has evolved since I started this blog... there's a subreddit for "painal" of course, if you're into that sort of thing.

I find the whole idea of "painal" a little, uhm... uncomfortable. Yes, spankings are supposed to hurt.  but some of those videos look really nonconsentually (I know that's not a real word). and they make me uncomfortable. which is weird, I guess, because I'm perfectly comfortable watching a woman get spanked, and that hurts a lot.

When I think of anal sex, I think of Kobe Bryant.  I'm weird, I know.  Kobe Bryant is one of the all time greats in the NBA, and he retired recently. He was once accused of raping a waitress at a Colorado hotel, but the details are sketchy. According to the urban dictionary, "Kobe style" is to "go anal without permission during consensual sex, thus making the sex non-consensual."  There was a settlement with the victim, and I assume a non-disparagement clause with that settlement, but here she is rapping about how he made her ass bleed.

Anyway, after I wrote a post about blogging again I quit for a few months, and got some late comments that went into the to-be-moderated pile, but just thought I'd share this topic as it hadn't come up yet in my commentary on spanking.

In with the old...

Spanking blogs come and go. It's natural. Someone into spanking reads blogs, and thinks, "Hey I could do that! I have important things to say about spanking!" ...and they eventually get their courage up or get a moment of ambition and they start a blog.

But... It takes awhile for a blog to gain a readership, and at the beginning they're just kind of talking to themselves. Still one of my most-read posts is one about this phenomenon- first posts are cool. To help new spanking bloggers gain an audience, for years Bonnie would post a list of new spanking blogs on her blog called "in with the new" providing links to new blogs and even helpfully color-coding them by type. You weren't really a spanking blogger until you've been featured on an "in with the new" post.  That's a task that was taken over briefly by Hermione, then since by a blog that's gone private.  --edit: and now hosted by Ronnie's blog. Thanks Hermione!

Having an audience is great. You can interact with others in comment or collaborating. It's fun. But... blogging can be a lot of work. At some point you run out of things to say about spanking that haven't already been said several time before. At some point you realize you're not writing on your blog because it's fun, but because you now have an audience and you feel compelled to post something. At some point, if you have limited personal "naughty time" on the internet perhaps there's greater utility and personal enjoyment out of spending that time reading spanking stories or looking at hot pictures or watching videos than in writing on your blog. Sometimes one becomes over-saturated with spanking and you'd rather spend your precious personal time on the internet reading and watching things like sports or politics or your other hobbies or something obscure on YouTube or Netflix. So blogs fade away. I posted something just a year after my blog was featured on the "in with the new" post about my "class" and most were no longer active.  I looked at my blog roll recently and there are several that haven't been updated in over a year. I should update it. Exacerbating this is that more and more we consume the internet on our phones or tablets, and I have discovered that trying to blog from those platforms is a real pain in the ass (and not in a good way!)

But... at some point maybe you realize there was a reason you enjoyed blogging, and maybe you miss it.  I've noticed a bit of a mini trend: spanking bloggers recently re-engaging after having taken a break.

Oh, and yous truly.  I took a break and have attempted to re-engage. I missed it. Perhaps it would help if I updated my blog roll! I bet I'm missing several bloggers who were active and have recently tried to re-engage- feel free to let me know in the comments.
